I remember hearing about a game called BioShock Infinite last year. I fell in love with the game right away, because it isn’t the BioShock I assumed it was going to be.
Taking place before Andrew Ryan had the ‘greatest’ idea of building Rapture under the sea, BioShock Infinite takes place in a whole new area… The Sky. So it goes from one extreme, the possible death by drowning, to the next where, if you make one wrong step, you are tumbling down to the Earth below.
Booker DeWitt is sent up to this sky town of Columbia to find a girl named Elizabeth. She was held captive for a number of years and it’s up to Booker to save her. The town is set in the 1912, where there is ‘turf war’ going on between the Founders and the Vox Populi. See the Founders want to keep Columbia for the true American where as the Vox Populi want to take control of the Founders and keep Columbia for themselves.
Oh did I tell you that Elizabeth has powers to manipulate rifts in the space-time continuum? Well she does. [When she teams up with you.] She helps you, Booker, to fight off enemies sorta like how Eleanor did with Subject Delta in BioShock 2.
I was actually very excited for this game 2012 release date till it got pushed back… Twice. I wasn’t all too happy about that. For a gamer like me, I get really upset and lose some faith when there is a lot of hype for a game then all of a sudden it doesn’t get released on time. I know companies have their reasons but it does make you wonder what happened for it not to be released on time. It’s going to be released early February 26, 2013. I’m at least happy it’s coming out early next year. I would hate to wait till near the holidays for the game to come out.
Anyways, I was floating on Facebook and Twitter, like I do every morning to find some interesting news that I can blog about. I found that there is going to be a Premium and an Ultimate Songbird Edition of the game. So what do you get in them? In the premium edition, you get the following:
- A 3″ Murder of Crows keychain replica
- A 5×7″ lithography by Jorge Lacera.
- A 25 millimeter, resin-cast Handyman miniature
- Mini art book
- Digital downloads: in-game gear, soundtrack, downloadable content for your platform (xbox 360, PC, Playstation3)
This awesome nine and a half inch monster from BioShock Infinite. I seriously want this, the price tag for it is a little too much for my liking, but I’m going to see how my money situation plays out.
Remember guys, there is going to be a new trailer for the game coming out in TWO DAYS!
